hi, I’m Jillian. it’s nice to meet you.

My goal is to help all of my clients to truly appreciate their unique bodies and the incredible things they can do. And when it comes to food, to help them learn how to best fuel and nourish their bodies, using an approach that is intuitive, rather than rigid or restrictive. I also do my best to help my clients to create individualized plans that are aligned with their own personal goals for their health and wellness, whether that means working toward specific performance goals or simply living everyday life in the fullest way possible.

My basic philosophy goes something like this: I believe that the food we eat has the power to influence how we feel physically, and also has a profound effect on our mental health and happiness. I believe in the value of eating fresh, whole food on a regular basis, certainly, but I also believe it is important to eat ice cream, pizza, and croissants, and to truly enjoy what you eat. The media tells us so many conflicting things about what is "healthy" and "unhealthy", and when it comes down to it, food is so much more than it's nutrient content. The true value of food comes in how it makes us feel, both physically and psychologically.

Professionally, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Spanish at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where I also ran competitively for four years. I got my Master's degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota in 2013, and completed my Dietetic Internship through the U of MN + The Emily Program after that.

On a more personal note, my favorite foods are yogurt, sweet potatoes, and Izzy’s Graham Cracker ice cream, and I enjoy, among other things, cooking for people I love, traveling to beautiful places, and running loops on the Mississippi River.
